Mets apologize after Mr. Met flips off fans at Citi Field

No one on the New York Mets is safe from the 2017 season.
During Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Mr. Met, the team's permanently happy-faced mascot, let his frustrations boil over as he was caught on video flipping the bird to fans as he retreated to the Citi Field concourse.

Shortly after the incident generated a fire on social media, the Mets quickly issued a statement on the matter:
"We apologize for the inappropriate action of this employee. We do not condone this type of behavior. We are dealing with this matter internally," the Mets said.
Following the club's statement, an anonymous Mets official told The Associated Press that the person who donned the disguise Wednesday will no longer work in the costume.
There isn't much else that can go wrong for the Mets this season, but man, they are trying.
