Hell hath no fury like that of Dana White's scorn.

On Wednesday, the UFC president spoke to TMZ Sports regarding a video he posted on Twitter in response to Oscar De La Hoya's purportedly hypocritical condemnation of a targeted superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. Four months before declaring boxing "may never recover" from the long-discussed blockbuster, De La Hoya appeared quite high on the prospect of promoting a fight between McGregor and Canelo Alvarez.

In one of his patented rants, White reamed the boxer-turned-promoter for both his contradiction and for brokering a universally panned affair between Alvarez and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

"Oscar and I have always had a good relationship. I was just at the (Canelo-Chavez Jr.) fight, he's talking about money grabs. Canelo-Chavez? You're gonna put on a fight like that and then call McGregor-Mayweather a money grab when you were trying to make that fight four months ago, right? It's crazy, I mean what's this guy's deal? What is he doing?"

De La Hoya is indeed promoting a fight involving Alvarez, only with Gennady Golovkin as his dance partner in a long-awaited fight set for Sept. 16, the initial target date for McGregor vs. Mayweather. A lifelong boxing fan, White wholeheartedly endorsed the booking, one he suspected De La Hoya wasn't entirely confident in.

"Instead, it makes it sound like he has no confidence whatsoever in 'GGG' vs. Canelo, which I have come out and said publicly is a good fight. I like the fight, I'll watch the fight. He seems completely insecure and it's one of the weirdest things I've ever seen. And talk about two-faced and contradicting and the list goes on and on ... Hating like he has no confidence in his fight.

"Oscar, what the fuck? Seriously, what the fuck is going on with you? Are you nuts? Are you out of your mind? Have you lost your fucking mind? What's going on?"

As for how close McGregor's boxing debut is to coming to fruition, White expressed his optimism before talking up the verbal fireworks that would be sure to ensue between "The Notorious" and Mayweather before they even meet in the ring. When addressing the fight's detractors, the UFC president suggested they take a stance once the fight was history, then issued De La Hoya a pointed parting shot.

"Nobody can judge a fight until the fight is over. Hey Oscar, just like when I showed up in my seat to watch Canelo-Chavez. The fight sucked, you know the fight sucked and the whole world knows the fight sucked. You got a better fight in GGG and Canelo, be confident about what you're doing. Be a little confident about your business, Oscar, and don't shit on other people's stuff. It's weird. It makes you look weird, especially when you wanted this fight so bad four months ago."
