Agent: Ibrahimovic wants Manchester United stay
Days after conceding that his client wanted to continue his celebrated career in Europe, super-agent Mino Raiola has expanded on that statement, adding that Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to stay at Manchester United.
With his contract at Old Trafford set to expire in June and with a serious knee injury likely to keep him sidelined until January, Ibrahimovic's future remains uncertain. Even so, Raiola admits that the Swedish striker's ambitions have not changed.
In discussion with talkSPORT, Raiola was asked if the player would like to stay at United.
"Oh yes," Raiola said. "He wants to stay in England. He wants to stay at the top. And if he sees that he can be a valuable asset for Manchester United, then why not Manchester United?
"He can be a valuable asset for some other top clubs also. But I think it is respectful to talk to Manchester United and to see what all parties want."
After doubts over Ibrahimovic's age and influence shrouded his maiden Premier League move, the 35-year-old quickly assuaged that distrust, scoring 28 times in 46 matches before his season was cut short in a Europa League quarter-final victory over Anderlecht.
With talk of a blockbuster move for Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Greizmann dominating United's transfer talk, the Red Devils may feel compelled to move on from Ibrahimovic, and if that is the case, the rarely-bashful Raiola admitted that there are other suitors for the player who has won 11 titles in five different leagues.
"We have a lot of offers and ideas and we have to evaluate them," Raiola added.
"He has had a fantastic time at Manchester United and it is up to the club and myself to see what the future brings. For now, it is important he recovers well and then we will see."
