The Orlando Magic have sent the Toronto Raptors a second-round draft pick as compensation for the hiring of Jeff Weltman. The selection will be the least-favorable of Orlando's two picks in second round in 2018, sources told The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Weltman, who was the Raptors' general manager under Masai Ujiri, was introduced as Magic president Wednesday. He promptly hired former Milwaukee Bucks colleague John Hammond to be his GM.
The move would give the Raptors a second-round pick in 2018 after they dealt away their existing selection to the Phoenix Suns for P.J. Tucker.
