Tom Brady featured on 'Madden 18' cover

EA Sports

"Madden 18" has its cover boy. It's the reigning Super Bowl MVP, Tom Brady.

''I think it is very cool,'' Brady said, according to The Associated Press. ''I grew up not far from the headquarters of EA Sports and some of my neighbors and best friends worked there. And we hung out at the gym they built in the facility where a lot of the 49ers would go. To be a fan of the game and play it over the years, it is really a cool honor, so when the opportunity was presented to me, it was something I would not turn down.''

Brady, who will turn 40 in August, is the oldest player ever to grace the cover of the popular video game. He's also the second Patriot in as many years, following Rob Gronkowski.

Gronkowski seemed to fall victim to the "Madden Curse" last season, playing only eight games and missing the Patriots' run to the Super Bowl after undergoing back surgery. Despite this, Brady doesn't sound particularly worried.

"I don't think Gronk's ever been cursed by anything," Brady countered. "He's in pretty good shape."

Along with revealing the "Madden 18" cover Friday, EA Sports dropped a trailer for the game.
