Shayanna Jenkins-Hernandez, the fiancee of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, spoke to daytime television host Dr. Phil, and their sit-down will be featured in a two-part special airing May 15 and 16.
Hernandez committed suicide and was found dead in his prison cell on April 19. He was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder. The conviction has since been dismissed.
"I thought it was a hoax, that this was some cruel person playing a trick on me," Jenkins-Hernandez said of learning of Hernandez's death.
