Klopp 'completely relaxed' over links between Coutinho, Barcelona

Jurgen Klopp is at ease over Philippe Coutinho's future.

On Wednesday, Klopp appeared unfazed by the links connecting Coutinho and Barcelona. Sport's Joaquim Piera reported on Tuesday that Liverpool values the Brazilian attacker at €90 million (approximately £75.7 million), adding that the Reds will only let the playmaker join the Blaugrana for a "millionaire figure."

Asked about Barcelona's reported interest in Coutinho, Klopp took to sarcasm, saying, according to the Guardian's Andy Hunter: "When did he sign his new contract? So that would be a nice idea (to sell him). With a £400-million clause.

"There are absolutely no plans. What our owners say is there is the absolute opportunity not to sell anybody if we do not want to. That means we can bring in other players and it is a good situation. We have a stable squad with a good basis. We want to bring a few in with fresh blood but nobody will leave us without our say, so I am completely relaxed about this."

Coutinho, the top Brazilian scorer in the history of the Premier League, inked a long-term contract with Liverpool in January, reportedly understood to be for five years.

Among those who have expressed a desire to see Coutinho at the Camp Nou is Neymar, who, in March, declared: "A Premier League player that I would like to have in Barcelona is Coutinho. I believe Philippe Coutinho is a player that would totally fit in Barcelona." Although the compatriots both made their debut for Brazil in 2010, the only major tournament in which they have taken the pitch together is the 2015 Copa America, where the Selecao was eliminated in the quarter-finals.
