Marc Stein let go by ESPN
The sweeping ESPN layoffs continue to claim some of the NBA's most prominent reporters.
Marc Stein, a senior NBA writer who's been at the Worldwide Leader since the turn of the millennium, announced Friday on Twitter that he was among those let go by the network.
Informed I'm among ESPN's layoffs. But basketball, as they say, never stops. To readers/viewers/listeners/countless colleagues ... grateful

It would be surprising enough for ESPN to axe its lead basketball reporter, but Stein had just signed a multiyear contract extension in October.
Other NBA reporters to be let go by the network include Ethan Sherwood Strauss, Calvin Watkins, and Justin Verrier, beat writers for the Golden State Warriors, Houston Rockets, and New Orleans Pelicans, respectively.
