Seahawks' Lacy: I'll do 'my best impression' of Marshawn Lynch

Landing with the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year deal gives Eddie Lacy a fresh start to put it all together after four up-and-down seasons in Green Bay.

The most intriguing aspect of the fit, of course, is a physical style that at least somewhat resembles that of Seahawks legend Marshawn Lynch. Lacy isn't running away from the comparison.

"They definitely fit the way I run," Lacy said Wednesday, according to the team's website. "I've always favored Marshawn Lynch's running style, and that's something Pete Carroll definitely likes. I'm going to come in and do my best impression of him and just bring my hard work and my hard running style to the table."

There was no shortage of questions surrounding the former second-round pick as he set out to test the free-agent market - many relating to some longstanding weight struggles - but his ability has never really been in doubt.

All indications are that Lacy is ready to capitalize on his opportunity and silence all doubters.

"I'm very motivated to prove myself," he said. "I know what I'm able to do, but I just want to go out and show everybody that I can do it and will do it. I just can't wait to get my chance."

Lacy appeared on track to rebound from a disappointing 2015 season before an ankle injury sent him to the injured reserve in October. Prior to being sidelined, the 26-year-old had posted a career-best 5.1 yards per carry.

The Seahawks will hope he can recapture the form he enjoyed in his first two seasons from 2013-2014, when he racked up a total of 2,317 yards and 20 touchdowns.
