Atlanta United acquires goalkeeper Kyle Reynish from Red Bulls
Atlanta United acquired goalkeeper Kyle Reynish from the New York Red Bulls in exchange for a 2018 natural fourth-round SuperDraft pick, the clubs announced Wednesday. In order to complete the deal, the Red Bulls had to first sign Reynish again before trading him to Atlanta.
"We were keen on acquiring another goalkeeper with MLS experience," Atlanta United president Darren Eales said in a statement. "Kyle has earned a spot on our roster after trialing with us over the past month. As the veteran goalkeeper in camp, Kyle has been a positive addition and he's proven he belongs at this level."
The 33-year-old spent the last two seasons with the Red Bulls, but has been with Atlanta United during preseason.
He joins the expansion team ahead of its inaugural campaign in MLS and is in com - presumably until Brad Guzan completes his move out of Middlesbrough at the end of the 2016-17 Premier League campaign.
