On one side of the English Channel is West Ham United, whose supporters are chanting hate-filled refrains about Dimitri Payet after he refused to pull on the Hammers' shirt and returned to Ligue 1.
On the other side is Olympique de Marseille, whose supporters were treated to a 2-0 victory over Guingamp on Wednesday in which Payet tallied his first goal since returning to Les Olympiens, knocking a 30-yard free-kick past Karl-Johan Johnsson with some help from a deflection.
