Mikey Garcia flatlines Dejan Zlaticanin to win WBC lightweight title

Boxer Mikey Garcia may have stolen Knockout of the Year honors on Saturday, as he rendered Dejan Zlaticanin lifeless in the third round with a heat-seeking right hand to win the WBC lightweight title.

The 29-year-old, 36-fight veteran remained undefeated with the vicious KO and adds the strap to a trophy case already including WBO junior lightweight and featherweight titles, while Zlaticanin - who won the crown with a third-round TKO of Franklin Mamani in his previous outing - sees his reign reduced to a one-and-done with his first taste of defeat in 23 pro bouts.
