Rhode Island will be without one of its best players for the foreseeable future.
Forward Hassan Martin will be forced to sit out Tuesday's contest against Old Dominion with a quadricep injury, head coach Dan Hurley told Jeff Goodman of ESPN, and the injury is expected to sideline the senior indefinitely.
Martin is coming off a 14-point performance against Providence on Dec. 3 in a 63-60 defeat.
Over the course of eight games this season, Martin has averaged 16.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and a remarkable 3.9 blocks in 28.8 minutes. His most notable performance came in an 82-73 victory over Belmont, in which he netted 31 points and blocked three shots.
