Griffin brushes off talk of going to Thunder in free agency
Last year's big free agent fish, Kevin Durant, heard plenty of rumors that his hometown Washington Wizards were a landing spot for his services at this point last season.
Now it's Blake Griffin and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Yet the Los Angeles Clippers power forward - probably next summer's top free agent after Durant and Stephen Curry - isn't biting on questions about returning to Oklahoma.
"People that I talk to and my friends and family from back home ... they know that my main focus is this season and this team," Griffin said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Andrew Han. "And they know that I enjoy playing (in L.A.) and I love this team, coaching staff, everybody. So they know that that's my main focus. So I think they pretty much know not to bring that up."
Griffin was born and raised in Oklahoma City before playing two years of college ball for the Sooners. The Clippers, who visit OKC on Friday, will also likely see point guard Chris Paul test unrestricted free agency in 2017. Both he and Griffin have early termination options on their contracts.
In the end, Durant didn't even grant an interview to the Wizards.
