Following Friday's news that Chinese investors signed a preliminary agreement to purchase AC Milan, the Italian giant made Paraguay international Gustavo Gomez its third signing of the summer.

The Rossoneri will pay a reported €8-million fee to Argentinian side Lanus for the 23-year-old centre-back, who's now tied to Milan until June 2021.
Reports in Italy had suggested Milan would take the player on season-long loan with an option to buy, but the deal is now permanent.
Gomez featured for Paraguay in the Copa America Centenario this summer, including starts against Costa Rica, Colombia, and the United States. Paraguay didn't progress past the group stage, finishing last in Group A.
Considered a robust defender with good aerial ability, Gomez will likely start beside Alessio Romagnoli in the heart of the Milan defence.
Milan had been searching for a defender to partner with Romagnoli following the departures of Philippe Mexes and Alex. The Northern Italian club was linked with several potential replacements across the continent - notably Valencia's Shkodran Mustafi and Villarreal's Mateo Musacchio - but those rumours have come to nothing.
It could take time for Gomez, who played with Lanus for the past three seasons, to adapt after jumping from the Argentinian league to Serie A. But players arriving from South America usually find a second home in Italy, whose top flight offers a similar style of play.
