Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Selected No. 3 overall by Celtics
Brown was selected by the Celtics with the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.
Analysis:
The Celtics had been working feverishly to trade the pick, but after finding no suitors who were willing to meet their demands, they selected their top available option in Brown, a freshman from Cal who can slot in at either shooting guard or small forward. He's very athletic and possesses the size and strength to play right away, but he'll need to build a more consistent jump shot in order to secure a larger role with the playoff-contending Celtics. Brown shot 48 percent from the field and just 29 percent from the three-point line in college, so he especially needs to work on extending his range. The potential remains high for Brown, but he'll be a bit of a project player in his first NBA season. Don't expect him to hold much fantasy appeal as a rookie, but he remains an intriguing commodity in dynasty formats.
