Brock Turner didn't disclose past drug use, court docs show
The former Stanford swimmer who was convicted of sexual assault in March and sentenced in June allegedly hid his drug-filled history during the trial, according to court documents released Friday.
Brock Turner said during the case that he came to Stanford without experience as a drinker and that "the party culture and risk-taking behavior" in college influenced him and played a role in his poor decision-making.
However, court documents released Friday reveal that prosecutors referred during the trial to several examples of Turner using hard drugs in high school. Turner's text message history was used as evidence that he discussed using LSD, Ecstasy, marijuana, and other substances as early as April 2014.
Turner was also ticketed by campus police for underage drinking in November 2014. He began attending Stanford in 2015.
Turner was sentenced to six months in jail for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman, though there's a chance he could be released after the third month.
