Tests reveal Real Madrid's Bale suffered knee strain
Real Madrid's La Liga title hopes might be in trouble with news that Gareth Bale suffered a joint strain in his right knee.
The Spanish side revealed the injury Friday, saying the Welsh forward will continue to be assessed.
Bale completed 90 minutes Wednesday during Real Madrid's 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Champions League semi-finals, but his status for Sunday's encounter with Valencia remains unknown.
It is not known if Bale picked up the injury during or after the fixture that saw Real progress to the Champions League final where it will face city rivals Atletico Madrid.
His injury was announced just before the team confirmed goalkeeper Keylor Navas also picked up an injury. The Costa Rica international sustained a foot injury and will continue to be assessed.
