Quinnipiac is finally the NCAA men's hockey champion.

Jacob Quillan scored just 10 seconds into overtime as the Bobcats knocked off top-ranked Minnesota 3-2 in Saturday night's Frozen Four final.

Bobcats bench boss Rand Pecknold credited assistant coach Joe Dumais with designing the faceoff play, per FloHockey's Chris Peters.

The title is Quinnipiac's first in program history after losing the championship game in 2013 and 2016. It's the first national title game to be decided in overtime since Minnesota-Duluth's triumph in 2011.

Quillan was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament following his overtime heroics.

Quinnipiac forward Collin Graf, defenseman Zach Metsa, and goaltender Yaniv Perets were named to the All-Tournament Team alongside Quillan. Forward Logan Cooley and defenseman Luke Mittelstadt earned spots from the Golden Gophers.

Graf tied the contest with under three minutes remaining after the Bobcats pulled their goaltender. Quinnipiac scored three unanswered goals after Minnesota opened a 2-0 advantage early in the second period.

Perets stopped 13 of 15 shots in the victory.

Forwards John Mittelstadt and Jaxon Nelson found the back of the net for Minnesota. Goaltender Justen Close made 27 saves in the loss.
