Everett Golson disappointed in not getting NFL Combine invite
Of the 332 prospects invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, Everett Golson is not one of them.
The former Florida State quarterback wasn't invited to the combine, which runs in Indianapolis from Feb 23-29.
Golson wanted a chance to showcase his talents to pro scouts, but says he has to move past the disappointment.
"I mean, it is what it is," Golson told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. "I'm disappointed.
"But you take what you get, and you go along with it and try to make the best of it. So that's where I am right now."
Golson had a promising but unstable collegiate career. He led Notre Dame to the 2013 BCS championship game, ultimately to get steamrolled 42-14 by Alabama. After the Irish nosedived in the second half of the following season, Golson moved on to the Seminoles as a graduate transfer.
The dynamic pivot endured injuries in his only year with Florida State, and was bumped down the depth chart in favor of Sean Maguire, which didn't help his draft stock.
His stock is nothing short of an uncertainty right now, and Golson says he hasn't heard from any pro teams.
"I haven't talked to anybody," he said. "Right now, my head is just down, focused, ready to go, just trying to do what I can do here to make sure I'm in the best position I'm in."
Golson measures in at 6 feet tall and 199 pounds. He finished his collegiate career with 7,628 passing yards and 52 touchdowns to 23 interceptions, tallying an additional 14 rushing scores in the process.
