VIDEO: Texas Tech turns near-interception into improbable touchdown

This surely wasn't how Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury drew it up.
Down 3-0 in the second quarter of Thursday's game against Texas, Red Raiders quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a pass that was about to be intercepted, but a bobble, big hit, and Jakeem Grant being in the right place at the right time turned it into a crazy touchdown.
The play officially went in the books as a 65-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes to Grant and put the Red Raiders ahead of the Longhorns 7-3 early in the second frame.
It's been that kind of year for Texas, which is trying to earn its fifth win of the year and inch closer to bowl eligibility.
