In what was supposed to be a defensive battle, Michigan didn't even let quarterback Jake Rudock get on the field before scoring a touchdown.
On the opening kickoff against Northwestern, Jehu Chesson caught the ball and took it back 96 yards for the score to give the Wolverines an early 7-0 lead.
The score paid dividends, as Michigan was able to score on its next possession to extend its lead to 14-0 over the Wildcats early in the first quarter.
