UCF's Chris Williams in stable condition after being shot twice in arm
UCF defensive back Chris Williams is recovering after being shot twice in the arm early Saturday morning.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office confirmed the shooting in a release obtained by Noelle C Campbell and Rachel S Stuart of the Central Florida Future.
The release said deputies responded to a call at a local lounge that a physical altercation was in progress with shots fired. When the deputies arrived, they were informed Williams was at Florida Hospital East.
Williams is believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and is listed in stable condition. Throughout the day Saturday, Williams' Twitter account retweeted several messages of support.
According to UCFSports, he posted a photo on his personal Facebook with a message: "I'm okay everybody I got shot in the arm twice but I good."

Head coach George O'Leary is aware of the incident and has been in contact with both Williams and his mother, a school athletics spokesman said.
Williams - a St. Marys, Ga. product - is a redshirt freshman who spent the majority of the 2014 season on the scout team and dressed for only one game against Tulsa in mid-November.
