Rowe missed most of spring practice as he was still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered in October, but is still expected to be one of the top candidates for Maryland's starting job, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

Analysis:

Rowe's injury history makes him no sure thing to hold onto the starter's job this season, but he will be given the opportunity. Maryland will have graduate transfer Daxx Garman from Oklahoma State as the main other candidate for the starting job. The receiving corps at Maryland was depleted by the departures of Deon Long, Stefon Diggs, and Marcus Leak, so the starting quarterback will have a learning curve with inexperienced pass catchers.
