Former Cavalier Greyson Lambert says he'll play for Georgia
Greyson Lambert will reportedly suit up as a Bulldog next season.
The former Virginia quarterback told ESPN on Wednesday morning that he's transferring to Georgia.
The Bulldogs were a rumored destination for the Georgia native when he announced his intent to transfer in May after dropping down the depth chart during spring practice.
Georgia head coach Mark Richt confirmed Georgia's interest in Lambert on Tuesday, despite already having three other quarterbacks vying for playing time.
"It's just like I've said all along: First of all, everybody's gotta compete with whoever’s there. We recruit every year," Richt explained. "It's an interesting dynamic of the timing."
Starting nine games for the Cavaliers last season, Lambert threw for 1,972 yards and 10 touchdowns against 11 interceptions. Since he's graduated from Virginia, he will be eligible to play immediately.
