Indiana WR Isaac Griffith arrested for driving while intoxicated
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana wide receiver Isaac Griffith is out of jail after being arrested for driving while intoxicated.
The 20-year-old sophomore from Fort Wayne was released from the Monroe County Jail after posting bond Saturday.
Indiana University Police spokesman Lt. Craig Munroe says Griffith was arrested early Saturday on preliminary charges of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with endangerment, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content above 0.08, and illegal consumption.
Team spokesman Jeff Keag says IU is aware of the arrest and is gathering more information.
It wasn't clear whether Griffith has an attorney.
Griffith nearly drowned in the Gulf of Mexico in March 2014 after being caught by a rip current. Three friends rescued him. Griffith was briefly placed in a medically induced coma.
