Oklahoma will be short a few players during spring practice, head coach Bob Stoops confirmed on Thursday.

Linebacker Dominique Alexander will miss spring practices because of wrist surgery. Defensive tackle Courtney Garnett will also miss spring after suffering a torn ACL during conditioning.

Linebacker Frank Shannon will not be participating in the Sooners spring practice as he serves a one-year school suspension that will end in the middle of May.

Joe Mixon, who served a one-year suspension for allegedly punching a female student, will participate in practices, but will not play in the spring games, in keeping with a policy the team had when the suspension started, said Stoops.

Guard Nila Kasitati may miss the first three days of spring practices due to an injury the head coach describes as a "slight issue."
