Louisville picked up a commitment from four-star wide receiver Desmond Fitzpatrick following their exciting - yet deflating - loss to No. 2 Florida State.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound player from Farmington, Mich. announced his decision on Friday morning. He's Louisville's third commitment for 2016, joining four-star quarterback Keaton Torre, and defensive back Baylen Buchanan.
Fitzpatrick has been smitten with Louisville following a visit when the team matched up against Wake Forest earlier this season.
“It felt just like home,” he told the Courier-Journal's Steve Jones.
Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Cincinnati and Wake Forest also offered Fitzpatrick a scholarship.
247Sports ranks Fitzpatrick a four-star recruit, the 50th-ranked receiver in the nation and the 10th-ranked player in Michigan. Rivals lists him as a three-star prospect, but the sixth-ranked player in his state.
Picking up Fitzpatrick will be beneficial for coach Bobby Petrino, especially given that several current receivers are NFL-bound. In addition, four-star Texas A&M transfer JaQuay Williams will be eligible to play next season, and Louisville has junior college standout Paul Harris and high school senior Traveon Samuel committed for 2015.
