Florida State remains undefeated with comeback win against NC State
Florida State emerged undefeated with a 56-41 victory over NC State, but the Seminoles trailed the Wolfpack for almost the entire first half.
Early on in the matchup, NC State met FSU with surprising ferocity. The Wolfpack came out swinging and scored 24 points in the first quarter - the most FSU has given up in the first quarter in its program history. NC State led 24-7 after the first and took a three-point lead into halftime.
FSU quarterback Jameis Winston, in his first game back from a one-game suspension, gave the Seminoles their first lead of the game late in the third quarter with his third touchdown.
However, the clear star of the matchup - regardless of taking a loss - was NC State quarterback Jacoby Brissett, who danced his way around defenders and completed near-impossible passes that stumped the Seminoles. The bad news is that he left in the fourth quarter with an unspecified injury. Or maybe fatigue from carrying the team on his back for the entire game.
Honorable mention goes to his counterpart at FSU, Winston, who passed for 365 yards and four touchdowns. Maybe he was inspired by coach Jimbo Fisher yelling at him on the sideline following a bad interception:
