Snoop Dogg: top-recruit son 'like a Calvin Johnson'
Rapper Snoop Dogg has high hopes for his top-recruit son currently playing wide receiver for the nation's second-ranked high school team.
Snoop appeared on ESPN's SportsNation on Friday prior to Cordell Broadus's game for Bishop Gorman High School, of Las Vegas.
Snoop compared his six-foot-three, 186-pound son to Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson.
"I see the potential of him being someone like a Calvin Johnson, if he maximizes," said Snoop. "He's just gotta maximize his strength and do the things that Calvin did to make sure that he was better than everyone in front of him."
Broadus is a top-rated, four-star recruit currently mulling offers from LSU, Florida State, UCLA and USC. Snoop has been outspoken in his desire to see his son play for the Trojans.

Rivals.com currently rates Broadus as the 13th-best receiver in the nation, and 132nd top prospect.
As for Snoop, he was spotted at the game wearing a shirt that read "Ain't nuthin' but a G thang," with Bishop Gorman's logo acting as the 'G.'

Snoop said in a half-time interview that his wife made the shirts, and that she's selling them for $29.99: "back door."
Snoop spoke glowingly of his son.
"I just want him to enjoy life and get the most out of it - whether it be football or film school. He's stepping out of my shadow and into his own, and I love him for that."
