Michigan and Oklahoma to play home-and-home series in 2025-26
Get your calendars out and mark the date because Oklahoma and Michigan are getting ready to play one another for only the second time. Just make sure it's an awfully long calendar because it will be quite some time before two of the biggest names in college football meet on the field.
The Wolverines and the Sooners have agreed to a home-and-home series in 2025-26. Oklahoma will host the first Sept. 6, 2025 in Norman, while the 2026 matchup will take place Sept. 12 in Ann Arbor.
"We are excited to reach an agreement to play Oklahoma, one of the storied programs in college football history," Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon said in a statement. "Oklahoma and Michigan have always been regarded as two of the top programs in college football, and creating this type of matchup is great for fans of both programs and the game of college football."
The previous meeting between Oklahoma and Michigan took place at the 1976 Orange Bowl where the Sooners walked away with a 14-6 victory and their fifth national title.
"We remain committed to playing games that celebrate the history and excitement of college football," Oklahoma director of athletics Joe Castiglione said in a statement. "Oklahoma and Michigan represent two of the most iconic names in American sport, and we look forward to a series that will be marked by mutual respect and admiration."
