Louisville's James Quick and Kentucky's Jason Hatcher cited for marijuana possession
Louisville wide receiver James Quick and Kentucky defensive end Jason Hatcher were cited for possession of marijuana by police at the University of Louisville on May 26, per a report from The Courier-Journal.
Quick was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after he was discovered with 39.5 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a grinder. Hatcher was found in possession of 2.5 grams of marijuana.
Police were called to Quick's apartment on the university's campus following complaints of a marijuana odor in the building.
The two were teammates together at Trinity High School in Kentucky and both played their freshman seasons this past year.
"We are aware of the situation involving James Quick and are very disappointed in his actions. We will handle the situation appropriately from within the program," Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino said in a statement.
"We are aware of it and will address it when all the facts have been determined," said Kentucky football spokesman Tony Neely.
Hatcher registered 19 tackles and a pair of sacks for the Wildcats last season, while Quick notched six receptions for 73 yards for the Cardinals.
