N.C. State RB Thornton facing drug charges, suspended by team
N.C. State running back Shadrach Thornton, and former safety J.J. Jones were cited at the their apartment Wednesday, when police found marijuana while visiting their apartment to investigate a sexual battery incident - in which Thornton is a subject.
The pair were each charged with a simple misdemeanor, while no charges were laid in the battery case, according to the Associated Press.
Thornton, the team's leading rusher with 768 yards in 2013, has been suspended indefinitely by the team, while Jones had already opted to transfer from the school.
