Coach Kyle Wittingham told reporters Sunday that Wilson is "uncertain" to play next week as Utah hits the road to take on USC, this after the sophomore starter under center suffered an apparent thumb injury in a 35-24 loss at Arizona Saturday night.
Whittingham explained to members of the media Sunday that "there's a lot of unknowns" when it comes to the extent of Wilson's injury, and as such, Utah's coaching staff would "just have to see how he progresses" over the upcoming week. Should Wilson not be able to go against the Trojans, back up Adam Schulz will step in under center, this after throwing for 142 yards and a touchdown this past Saturday against the Wildcats.
