Report: UCF head coach Malzahn resigning to be FSU's OC
UCF head coach Gus Malzahn is resigning to become Florida State's offensive coordinator, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
"We would like to thank coach Malzahn for his contributions to our football program over the past four seasons, including our transition into the Big 12 Conference," UCF said in a statement. "We appreciate his professionalism and dedication to our student-athletes throughout his tenure at UCF."
Malzahn led the team to a 4-8 record this season, his fourth with the program. He owns a 28-24 mark with the Knights.
The 59-year-old owns a 105-62 career record with Arkansas State, Auburn, and UCF.
Florida State fired offensive coordinator Alex Atkins on Nov. 10. The Seminoles' offense ranks 130th in points (15.8) and 131st in yards (273.1) per game this campaign.
The 2-9 Seminoles host 6-5 Florida for a rivalry matchup Saturday night.
