Cincinnati head coach Luke Fickell has been named Home Depot Coach of the Year for 2021, the program announced Tuesday.
Fickell led the Bearcats to a second-straight AAC title this season, going a perfect 12-0 during the regular season and beating Houston 35-20 in the conference championship game.
Most notably, Fickell has coached Cincinnati to the No. 4 spot in the final College Football Playoff Rankings, becoming the first-ever Group of 5 school to achieve such a feat.
A three-time AAC coach of the year, Fickell is in his fifth season as head coach of the Bearcats after beginning his tenure in December 2016.
The Bearcats will face No. 1 Alabama next in the College Football Playoff semifinals at the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 31.
