Nothing helps break up the sports week better than MACtion. We have five games on tap in Week 12 covering Tuesday and Wednesday, so let's get into some betting notes.

Buffalo @ Bowling Green (+31, 58), Nov. 17 @ 7 p.m. ET

You tend to see spreads like these when the preseason MAC champ draws arguably the worst program in America. There hasn't been any movement on the 31-point line, but the total's dropped from 61 to 58.

Two games, two easy wins against the spread for Buffalo so far. The Bulls have covered five straight dating back to last season and are 21-7 ATS the last 28 against the MAC.

It's a matter of how many points Buffalo wants to win by here. Bowling Green's defense allowed close to 600 yards per game in its pair of losses this season.

Profitable betting trends

  • Buffalo is 9-3 ATS the last 12 against teams with losing records
  • Bowling Green is 2-13 ATS the last 15 as a home underdog

Akron @ Kent State (-26.5, 58), Nov. 17 @ 8 p.m.

This is the second week in a row the public's bet the Kent State under down a couple of points. The number opened at 59.5 before quickly dipping to 58.

Akron lost 24-10 to Ohio last week. It was only the second time in the last nine games the Zips stayed within at least 14 points of an opponent. It's no surprise the program's just 7-20 ATS the last 27 outings.

Kent State erupted for 62 against Bowling Green last week, but should bettors expect a lower-scoring output in Week 12? The Golden Flashes have cashed six of the last seven unders after scoring 40 or more in their previous game.

Profitable betting trends

  • Akron is 2-8 ATS the last 10 conference games
  • Kent State is 4-0 ATS following a cover

Western Michigan @ Central Michigan (-1.5, 59.5), Nov. 18 @ 7 p.m.

What does Western Michigan have for an encore? The Broncos scored two touchdowns in the final minute to beat Toledo and ultimately cover last week. They now find themselves in an underdog role to Central Michigan, which won by 30 as a 5.5-point favorite over NIU last Wednesday.

The Chippewas have been profitable in the favorite role of late, covering six of the last seven when giving points. They've also been near-perfect when playing mid-week games, going 10-0-1 ATS the last 11 on Wednesdays.

It pays to be the visitor in this series. The road team's covered seven of the last eight meetings.

Profitable betting trends

  • Western Michigan is 5-0 to the over the last five Wednesday games
  • Central Michigan is 5-1 ATS the last six conference games

Northern Illinois @ Ball State (-14, 62.5), Nov. 18 @ 7 p.m.

Northern Illinois put up a decent fight against Buffalo in the opener, then forgot to show up last week against Central Michigan. The Huskies lost by 30 and were outgained by close to 200 yards.

Northern Illinois has to respond here, but don't count on it. The Huskies usually have a difficult time getting up after a double-digit loss at home, going just 3-13-1 ATS the next game.

All Ball State does is score. The Cardinals hung 38 in a win over Eastern Michigan in Week 11 to help cruise past the closing total of 61.5. They've gone over the total in six straight dating back to 2019.

Profitable betting trends

  • NIU is 7-1 ATS the last eight meetings

Toledo @ Eastern Michigan (+6.5, 61), Nov. 18 @ 7 p.m.

Eastern Michigan is one of the country's best programs to play as an underdog, if not the best. Head coach Chris Creighton has covered 24 of the last 31 games when catching points.

How will Toledo respond after getting stunned last week? The Rockets are typically good bets as road favorites under head coach Jason Candle, covering 12 of the previous 17.

Eastern Michigan might have the edge here, considering the home team's covered four of the last five in this series.

Profitable betting trends

  • Toledo is 6-2 to the over the last eight against the MAC
  • Eastern Michigan is 19-7 ATS the last 26 following an outright loss
