Report: Clemson 4-star freshman Bowman enters transfer portal
Clemson freshman running back Demarkcus Bowman has entered the transfer portal, AL.com's Matt Zenitz reports.
Bowman was a four-star recruit in the 2020 class. He was the fourth-ranked tailback and No. 23 overall prospect in the ESPN 300.
The Lakeland, Florida native has been used sparingly to start his first campaign with the Tigers. He's amassed nine carries for 32 yards through two games while playing behind Travis Etienne and Darien Rencher.
Bowman was part of a highly ranked recruiting class for head coach Dabo Swinney. Clemson received a commitment from 10 top-100 prospects and seven top-50 players, including five-star defensive linemen Bryan Bresee and Myles Murphy.
When collegiate players enter the transfer portal, it doesn't necessarily mean they intend to leave their program. Student-athletes are free to withdraw their name from the portal at any time.
