Four-star quarterback Brock Vandagriff, the No. 2-ranked pocket-passer prospect on the ESPN 300, announced Wednesday he will be decommitting from Oklahoma.

The Georgia native said the distance from his hometown to Oklahoma caused him to rethink his decision.

Vandagriff had offers from 18 other elite programs, including LSU, Alabama, and Georgia.

The loss of the top prospect leaves the Sooners with just redshirt sophomore Tanner Mordecai and redshirt freshman Spencer Rattler at quarterback. Oklahoma has no other known 2020 signees or 2021 commitments.

Mordecai and Rattler are expected to compete for the right to succeed Jalen Hurts next season, though head coach Lincoln Riley plans to add another quarterback to the room for 2020, according to Tyler Palmateer of the Norman Transcript.

After dipping into the transfer market with Hurts, Riley said there are "absolutely no" plans to do so again.
