Wisconsin's Jonathan Taylor became the third player in FBS history to rush for 5,000 career yards before his senior season with a first-quarter burst Saturday versus Illinois, according to ESPN Stats.

Taylor joined Georgia legend Herschel Walker and former Oregon star LaMichael James in the exclusive club. Ron Dayne is the unofficial fourth player on the list, as his bowl game production - which the NCAA didn't include in official stats until 2002 - would have gotten him to 5,000 yards before his fourth year.

Taylor has been virtually unstoppable since stepping foot on campus, rushing for at least 100 yards in all but six games of his career. He reached the 5,000-yard plateau on his 736th career carry, making him the fastest player to the mark.
