LSU added another high-profile defensive back from its 2019 recruiting class, as four-star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. announced his commitment to the Tigers.

The 6-foot-1, 193-pounder is the fifth-ranked cornerback in the class of 2019 and the No. 67 overall prospect on the ESPN 300.

A native of Baton Rouge, La., Stingley held offers from a number of big-time programs across the country, including Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, Penn State, and Notre Dame, but opted to join LSU.

Stingley is the seventh four-star prospect committed to the Tigers in the 2019 cycle. He joins fellow top-100 recruits in guard Kardell Thomas, and fellow cornerback Maurice Hampton.
