Ex-Ohio State QB Burrow will transfer to LSU
Ohio State graduate transfer quarterback Joe Burrow announced that he will transfer to LSU on Twitter Friday night.
As a redshirt junior, Burrow is immediately eligible for the 2018 season and has two years of eligibility remaining. The former four-star quarterback had reportedly narrowed his choices to the Tigers and Cincinnati after announcing his intention to transfer earlier this month.
Burrow was a top performer at the Buckeyes' recent spring game while competing with Dwayne Haskins and Tate Martell to be J.T. Barrett's successor. The 6-foot-3 passer hadn't started a game in three years at Ohio State, but did make 11 appearances, completing 29 of 39 passing attempts for two touchdowns and no interceptions.
At LSU, Burrow will enter an already tough quarterback competition to replace departed starter Danny Etling. Justin McMillan, Myles Brennan, and Lowell Narcisse battled to what head coach Ed Orgeron called an "equal" draw during spring practices, per Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.
