Texas, Alabama schedule home-and-home series in 2022 and 2023

Erich Schlegel-USA TODAY Sports

Two of the most popular college football teams will clash in a home-and-home series during the 2022 and 2023 seasons.

Texas announced Wednesday it'll play Alabama in future non-conference games. The series will begin with Texas hosting the Crimson Tide on Sept. 10, 2022, and end with the Longhorns traveling to Tuscaloosa on Sept. 9, 2023.

The contests forced Texas to push back its home-and-home series with Ohio State. Those games will now take place in 2025 and 2026.

Texas and Alabama haven't met since the 2010 BCS National Championship Game, when the Crimson Tide prevailed with a 37-21 victory to complete an undefeated season.

The Longhorns hold a 7-1-1 all-time series lead over Alabama.
