McElwain accepts coaching job with Michigan
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports
The team that helped begin Jim McElwain's demise at Florida is now his employer.
The former Gators head coach accepted a position on Michigan's staff, joining Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines as a wide receivers coach Sunday.
"I'm excited to get back into it and am looking forward to going there and learning and helping Michigan get better," he told ESPN's Chris Low.
Last year, the Gators fell to Michigan in the season opener, beginning a whirlwind campaign for Florida that included McElwain's midseason firing.
McElwain won back-to-back SEC East crowns in his two full seasons at Florida.
