Minkah Fitzpatrick was in bathroom for Alabama's game-tying TD
Alabama defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick picked one of the worst possible times to go to the bathroom during the College Football Playoff National Championship.
While Fitzpatrick was in a sideline tent, Tua Tagovailoa found Calvin Ridley for the game-tying touchdown pass.
"I was going to the bathroom on the sideline," Fitzpatrick told ESPN Radio's "Golic and Wingo" show Wednesday before declaring for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Fitzpatrick had a good idea of what was going on, though.
"I could tell which side was the Alabama side. Alabama's side was to the left side of our tent and the Georgia side was to the right side of our tent," he explained. "So if the left side started cheering, I knew it was us and we got the first down or scored a touchdown. If it was the right side, that means it was Georgia and I had to go run out on the field and go back on defense."
