Dan Mullen is one of the hottest names in coaching carousel rumors, but his current employer might be preparing to extinguish that fire once and for all.

One day after Mississippi State lost to Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl, Bruce Feldman of Sports Illustrated reported that the university is set to "step up and go all in to keep Dan Mullen," adding that it's willing to raise his annual salary from $4.5 million to $6 million, and offer raises to his staff.

Recent speculation has suggested the 45-year-old could be a potential target of both Tennessee and Florida, both programs looking for new head coaches. Mullen did his part to quiet the rumors following his most recent loss, insisting he plans to be with Mississippi State next season.

As bowl season approaches, Mullen will look for at least one more win to close out his ninth season with the Bulldogs and improve his 69-46 overall record.
