Florida prefers Chip Kelly to retain certain assistants from the current regime if he accepts an offer to become the Gators' next head coach, CBS Sports' Dennis Dodd reports.

Kelly is expected to pick his next employer in the coming days, with UCLA also contending for his services. An announcement on his hiring could reportedly come as early as Sunday.

Florida's interim head coach and defensive coordinator, Randy Shannon, is reportedly among the assistants the Gators would like to keep.

Kelly reportedly met with Florida officials Sunday, and UCLA officials Tuesday. It's unclear which job Kelly is leaning toward at this time, a source told Dodd.
