Florida will be without Jordan Sherit for the remainder of the season after the defensive end had hip surgery earlier this week.

As per Graham Hall of the Gainesville Sun, head coach Jim McElwain confirmed the news during a conference call on Wednesday, saying the injury Sherit suffered in Florida's loss to Texas A&M is season-ending.

The redshirt senior leads the team in quarterback hurries through six games, and was considered the leader of the Gators' defense.

Sherit becomes the latest Gator to miss time, as the team continues to be without the services of nine players who've been suspended all season due to misuse of school funds. Last season's leading rusher, Jordan Scarlett, and leading receiver, Antonio Callaway, are among the nine suspended.
