AP Poll: Clemson supplants Oklahoma for No. 2 behind Alabama

Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

Another impressive outing for Clemson led to a change near the top of the AP Poll on Sunday, as the Tigers overtook Oklahoma for the No. 2 ranking in the country.

The Sooners dropped to No. 3, while Penn State and USC flipped spots from a week ago and sit behind them to complete the shaken-up top five. Alabama retained the No. 1 position.

New to the top 25 this week is Mississippi State, which was rewarded for its dominant win over LSU with the 17th seed. The Tigers, meanwhile, fell 13 slots to No. 25.

San Diego State, Utah, and Oregon also secured places in the poll this week. All three programs are off to 3-0 starts.
