Oklahoma State's Washington shrugs off injury rumors: 'I'm healthy'

It was reported last week that Oklahoma State's James Washington would miss the first four games of the season, but the receiver himself dispelled those rumors Wednesday.

"People were telling me I was out four games, it kind of shocked me," Washington said to Kyle Boone of CBS Sports. "It was kind of funny honestly, just to see how stuff can spread so fast."

Washington was reportedly set to miss the games due to a hernia, but it now appears those claims were baseless.

The 21-year-old participated in practice the day after the report surfaced, but hadn't spoken about it until Wednesday.

"I'm healthy," Washington said. "I'm looking forward to the first game."

The pass-catcher is one of the favorites to win the Biletnikoff Award this year after putting up 1,380 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns last season.
